Community Health Services to offer COVID testing, appointment required
FREMONT – On Friday, Community Health Services will offer drive-thru COVID-19 testing at their main office at 2221 Hayes Ave., from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Clients must have an appointment to be tested.
Registration must be completed online by going to the Community Health Services website at CHSOhio.com. Look for the yellow bar at the top of the homepage and click “more information” to go to the test registration page. Drive-thru testing appointments cannot be scheduled over the phone.
This is a self-administered test and results are usually available within 48-72 hours. This test is free and photo ID is required upon arrival.
Two villages will host a virtual meeting on parenting empowerment and self-care
ELMORE — A virtual town hall meeting of the two villages will take place from 1 to 3 p.m. on March 6.
This public discussion will focus on the importance of self-care for adults in our community, just as flight attendants remind travelers that in the event of an emergency, put on your oxygen mask first before going out. ‘help others.
The pandemic has placed many unexpected burdens on families. Adults really struggle to meet the social, emotional and educational needs of their children. Many parents/guardians are also caregivers at work, so they rarely have the downtime they need to recharge.
There has been a massive layering of stress between our personal and professional lives. We have been asked to do more with fewer resources. We have been separated from the supports that support us. We have been forced to mourn the loss of lives, jobs and opportunities.
From the comfort of your own home, join Two Villages from 1-3 p.m. on March 6 for a conversation with a panel of experts who will discuss adult self-care. Panelists include Brian Davis, MA, co-founder of Reflect Wellness of Maumee; Dr. Ryan Travis, MD, Pro-Medica Memorial Hospital in Fremont: and Henrietta Whelan, MSW, executive director of Bayshore Consulting Services, Sandusky.
Parents, grandparents, teachers and youth activity leaders from Woodmore and surrounding communities are invited to this free event.

The board of health will meet on Friday
FREMONT – The Sandusky County Board of Health will meet at 8:30 a.m. Friday at 2000 Countryside Drive. The board will hold property and variance hearings for Phillip Davidson, 4731 CR 23, Kansas and Jeff Miller, 1737 CR 268, Vickery.
There will also be discussions on COVID-19 cases and vaccinations.
