Lowndes Community Health and Resource Day open to the public

VALDOSTA – The first Community Health and Resource Day event on November 5 will be open to all residents of Lowndes and surrounding counties.

The Southern Health District is partnering with Pastor McCullough and Mount Pisgah Baptist Church to host their first Community Health and Resource Day in Lowndes County.

The first Lowndes County Community Health and Resource Day will be held November 5, 2022 at the VLPRA Senior Community Center at 1360 E Park Avenue in Valdosta from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.

The event takes place on November 5, 2022 at the VLPRA Community Center for Seniors at 1360 E Park Avenue in Valdosta. The event will take place from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

The event is open to all residents of Lowndes and surrounding counties.

There will be vendor booths located throughout the senior center gym and refreshments will be offered to those who attend.

Free COVID vaccines, blood pressure checks, utility/housing/health care assistance, free phones for those receiving government assistance (registration is based on eligibility criteria), mentorship programs and more will be available. A representative will also be on hand to answer questions about COVID updates, vaccinations, etc.

Out of Hands Theater will present their film “Chosen” at the event. “Chosen” is “an innovative short film that will harness the power of the arts to engage audiences and participants of all ages in overcoming COVID-19 and flu vaccine hesitancy.”
