Wilmington-based Nemours Children’s Health plans to open a specialty care center in Malvern as part of its multimillion-dollar expansion in southeastern Pennsylvania, writes John George for the Philadelphia Business Journal.

The pediatric health system will invest approximately $40 million in opening three specialty care sites by winter 2024 in Chester, Delaware and Montgomery counties.

“We care for more than 85,000 Pennsylvania-based children, and that demand continues to grow,” said Pauline Corso, senior vice president and chief operating officer of Nemours Children’s Health.

The Malvern site will follow the opening of the Abington and Broomall sites and is expected to open in winter 2024.

It will be located in Uptown Worthington at 455 Carnegie Boulevard. This will include an outpatient surgery facility as well as a comprehensive pediatric care center covering 22 medical and surgical specialties. A sleep center as well as physical, occupational and speech therapy will also be offered.

The site is created specifically to be Nemours’ “comprehensive outpatient surgery” location for families in southeastern Pennsylvania who do not require hospital care.
