Renovation and expansion project begins at Wood County Community Health Center – BG Independent News

The Wood County Community Health Center will soon begin a renovation and remodel that will allow for an expansion of services to better meet the needs of our community. The renovation will allow the Health Center to increase the number of examination rooms, add a behavioral health wing and expand the pharmacy and waiting room.

“We are excited about the changes we will be making to our facility, which will improve our patients’ experience at our center, allow us to serve more people and provide expanded service to our patients,” said Diane Krill, CEO. from the health center. .

The renovation is expected to take about four months. Construction will be completed in phases, allowing the Health Center to continue to serve patients on site throughout the renovation.

Although service disruptions are expected to be minimal, some changes will affect the flow of services during construction. The health center will be closed on Friday October 28 and Monday October 31. The health service will be open for all other services on these days.

From Tuesday, November 1:

• The Health Center entrance and parking for Health Center patients will be located on the east side of the building. Signs will be posted to direct patients to the alternate entrance and parking area.
• The health center pharmacy will move to another location in the building and will be accessible through the main entrance to the health service.

The project will be funded by a grant specifically for the renovation of health centers, made available by the Health Resources Services Administration.
