UAMS Partners with Wagner’s Mount Ida Pharmacy to Provide Community Health Worker in Montgomery County

As an Embedded Community Health Worker, Duncan is available to answer basic health care questions and provide education and resources to the public. Community health workers work within their communities to help the public get the care they need and answer essential health care questions, such as when someone should see a doctor. They can also provide valuable information about vaccines.

“We are thrilled to be working with Michele to provide the people of Montgomery County with a new resource as we enter the next and hopefully final stage of the COVID-19 pandemic,” said Stephanie Kruger, Associate Director. community programs in the UAMS Office of Community Health and Research. “We are also excited to work with Wagner’s Mount Ida Pharmacy and the Montgomery County community as we work to create better health for all Arkansasians.”

UAMS’ Northwestern Regional Campus includes 288 medical, pharmacy, nursing, and health professions students, 64 medical and pharmacy residents, two sports medicine fellows, and 1,000 community faculty.
