Regional and state health officials are monitoring respiratory diseases in emergency departments and emergency services. Student Health Services reports several cases of influenza and ILI in October, earlier than in recent years. The CDC has a helpful website dedicated to seasonal flu, including information on how to tell the difference between the flu and cold and between the flu and COVID-19.
If you have symptoms of respiratory illness, see a doctor TimelyCare 24/7 virtual medical care for students, Student Health Servicesthe Faculty/Staff Health and Wellness Clinic, or other resources. And remember the strategies we’ve learned over the past few years: stay home if you have a fever, wash your hands frequently, cough into your elbow, think about when to wear a mask, be careful in large crowds or social settings, do not share drinks. , etc.
