The Marsha Stephen Community Health Leadership Award recognizes those who serve either Belleville or Quinte West, or both. Beneficiaries are people known to have contributed to the health of the community, for example by finding new approaches or bringing people or programs together for a particular purpose.

It is named after the founding executive director of the health center.

“Many leaders go unrecognized, but their efforts are felt deep within our communities,” read a statement from the agency.

“These leaders understand that health is a resource for people and communities. They see how to improve things. And they work with others to make positive changes toward health and well-being.

Anyone who meets the criteria for the award and who is not a past recipient can be nominated.

Proponents must complete a form available on the website at tinyurl.com/chcaward.

Applications will be received until April 16, 2022 and should be emailed to [email protected] or mailed or dropped off at the Belleville Center office, Belleville, 161 Bridge St. W. at Sidney Street, or the Trenton office, 69 Catherine Street, across from Trenton Memorial Hospital.
